Happy Monday friends!! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. If you follow fashion trends, sunny yellow lit up the runways for Spring/Summer 2019. I was a bit surprised by this, to be honest. But before you dismiss yellow as a color you cannot wear, you don’t have to wear a ton of yellow or wear it too close to your face, if you feel it is uncomplimentary to your skin tone. You can add this hue in your bottoms or with accessories (think belts, shoes or handbag) to give your outfit just that bit of extra panache.
Yellow looks fabulous paired with any neutral. In the below outfit, I’ve paired a yellow blouse, from WHBM, with navy tie waist pants, from the Loft. Both pieces are from last year, but similar items can be found here and here. If you think a solid yellow top is too much for you, minimize the color by adding a denim jacket, blazer or cardigan. You can also select a print or pattern that has pops of yellow in, such as I’ve done in the second photo. In this look, my Express dolman sleeve top has stripes of soft marigold and white. While my top is from last season, you can find a similar top here.
If you want to brighten up your outfit with a pop of yellow, accessorizing is a great option. Just add a yellow handbag, as I’ve done, which really makes a statement against the cobalt blue cardigan. Love that! Adding a yellow belt, scarf, necklace or shoe is also an easy way to make an impact to your look.
I’m curious – do you have yellow in your wardrobe? Would you give this trend a try? Until next time – stay beautiful! xo
