Happy Friday!! The weekend is nearly upon us. Woot! It’s been a busy, fun week. My sister and family were in town visiting, so we had a packed few days. First order of business – First Watch – for my birthday breakfast. If you live in the Cleveland or Pittsburgh area, you are probably familiar with this restaurant chain. It is one of my favorite breakfast spots. The food is so fresh. They only focus on breakfast, lunch, and brunch but everything I ever had was of great quality. They are planning to open a few locations down south in Texas, Florida, South Carolina and Virginia. If you happen to live in one of the cities where they plan to open, I hope you’ll check them out. I’m thinking you won’t be disappointed. 🙂 If you want to learn more about the First Watch story, click here.
After breakfast, my sister and I took my niece prom dress shopping. The poor girl, we had her trying on so many dresses. lol. Shopping for her prom dress made me take note of the latest prom dress trends. Here is a quick breakdown of what is trending: Ball gowns are back, offering a classic fit and flare look that is flattering to every body type. The two piece dresses continue to stay relevant, as well. As for color – rose (in all shades) has made a strong appearance in the prom dress world. We saw that color everywhere! Also, bold floral prints were certainly abundant, as were shimmery metallics.
In the end, don’t you know we came back to the very first dress she tried on! We wanted to see some other dresses before making a decision, but nothing else could compare. The color, the fit – perfection. Dress Details: The Morgan & Company Juniors’ Open-Back Glitter-Lace Gown is sold at Macy’s (Junior Department). She is wearing a size 5. I would say it runs TTS. It is a bit long, but nothing that a tailor can’t fix.
During my sister’s visit, we also spent an afternoon at the nail salon, where we relaxed and enjoyed some pampering. But that does lead me to a question, does anyone else bring their own manicure nail kit when getting their nails done? I never used to, but a few years ago I started. I have a travel sized nail kit that I bring with me, similar to this Tweezerman Mini Nail Rescue Kit found at Sephora.
I did manage to make a few birthday purchases this week that I wanted to share. JCPenny is having a sale right now, so I picked up this adorable sundress by Arizona. It comes in pink multi and white dusty blue. Regular and plus sizing. The buttons down the front are not functional. It’s a rayon knit material. I am 5’6 and normally an XS, however I did size up to a Small in this piece. From farmer’s markets to casual get together’s with friends, I can see myself wearing this sundress all summer. 🙂
Also bought a pair of Brooks Ghost 11 Running Shoes found at Dick’s Sporting Goods (navy/grey combo). I recently had the Brooks Levitate 2 LE Running Shoe, but quickly found them to be not as comfortable. I’ve had a lot of luck with the Ghost line, so I opted to go back to what works for my feet – they’re light weight and comfy, and they come in a wide variety of colors.
A few things to share that are in the pipeline… I’ll be sharing a Loft try-on session next week, which I’m super excited about. Also, our laundry room remodel is nearing completion. Once it’s finished, I’ll share photos, the company/contractor we went with, etc., for inspiration in case you’re considering a laundry room remodel.
As always, thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great weekend and Easter/ Passover holiday!
XO ~ Michelle
