Hi friends! Happy Wednesday! Depending on where you are located, for most, the weather is warming up. Time to break out those shorts! And while I love a basic t-shirt with shorts, I thought I would share some inspirational looks on ways you can style your favorite summer go-to item.
Bermuda shorts are easy to wear, casual, yet refined. You just want to ensure the length is proportioned to your leg length, especially if you are petite. Keep your look fresh by pairing with a lightweight wrap top for a so-very-chic look.
A smart-casual outfit includes a structured blazer worn over a camisole, city shorts and strappy sandals. Keep those shorts at an appropriate length (no daisy dukes please) and the whole ensemble is perfect for the office! *Putting my HR Hat on ~ Just be sure to double check your company’s dress code policy before you give this a go.
Whether brunching, running errands or shopping with friends, gingham print shorts are the perfect print for summer. Try wearing with a simple black t-shirt and sandals. Or, if you’re feeling ambitious, mix your prints and add a floral top (just keep both prints in the same color family).
Weekends are the perfect time to show off your laid back style. For that boho vibe, grab a pair of lightweight linen shorts and pair with a loose-fitting top for an effortlessly casual yet pulled together look.
Outfit Details: My embroidered top was from StitchFix and my shorts are from Old Navy (from a few seasons back), but I found a similar long-sleeved embroidery blouse, as well as these adorable chambray shorts from Target.
I love pairing a long cardigan with denim shorts, which btw – I am OBSESSED with these shorts. I think it’s the perfect pulled together look for running errands, a casual get together with friends and outdoor concerts (the cardigan comes in handy should it get chilly).
Colored shorts offer great summer style and are a fun alternative to your everyday denim short. In the below, I’m rocking navy stripes with coral chino shorts. A good rule of thumb, if in doubt, reach for neutrals to pair with your colored shorts. They go with everything!
Until next time, have a wonderful day! Thanks for stopping by. 🙂 ~ Michelle
