Hey friends! It’s FRIDAY (finally!). Have you ever heard of or tried argan oil as part of your beauty and skin care routine? I stumbled across Josie Maran’s 100% pure argan oil a few years ago and must tell you – I really LOVE the hydration it gives my skin (and hair). I was a bit skeptical given I have acne prone skin. The thought of putting oil on my face sounded counter intuitive. You want me to do what now?! But, to my pleasant surprise, it didn’t break out my skin. Instead I found my skin moisturized and nourished.
Lots of companies have jumped on the argan oil bandwagon, but when it comes to putting oil on your face, I highly recommend purchasing an organic product. That is why I recommend Josie Maran. I started out with her Argan Oil and Color Stick packaged together and sold at QVC.com. I’ll talk about the color stick in a minute, but with the argan oil, a little goes a long way. I use it after I’ve showered, while my skin is slightly damp. Just 1-2 drops on your palm is all you need. Simply pat the oil onto your face and decolletage. It’s fantastic for cuticles or dry patches (elbows, knees, etc.) too!
The color sick (I own it in the rosey color) is the perfect purse sized color stick. Use it on your lips or your cheeks for a natural, rosey (hence the name) glow. I apply directly from the color stick, but you can also use your finger tips or a make-up brush to apply and blend. It’s hydrating and is my go-to year round, but especially in those dry winter months.
Velvety, lightweight and hydrating is how I would describe Josie Maran’s Body Butter. It is infused with argan oil and comes in a variety of scents. My favorite ones, so far, are Vanilla Bean and Sweet Citrus. They are not strong or overpowering in scent. I would say more subtle, but pleasant and gives nice relief to parched skin. She also makes an unscented body butter if you prefer.
This year I tried Josie Maran’s Vibrancy Full Coverage Argan Concealer in light shade. It’s applied just like any other concealer. It’s a really nice concealer and does not crack or crease in the eye area. It comes in a wide variety of color options, too. However, if I’m being honest, I still prefer my Beautycounter Concealer Pen. I feel like the Beautycounter concealer adds a bit more brightness to my under eye area. But, the Vibrancy concealer is a nice backup and with so many five-star ratings, it is worth trying.
Let me know if you have tried any of Josie Maran’s products and how you like them. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great weekend! 🙂 ~ Michelle
