Hi everyone! Hope you all are having a great Monday! We are back home from our vacay to the West coast. We visited San Francisco and Napa Valley and had such a fantastic time! Both places treated us so well. While touring Alcatraz, we actually had an opportunity to meet a former inmate. He was there for a book signing. Quite a rare moment. The weather was cool and breezy in San Francisco and warm, yet pleasant in Napa. Unlike the East coast – no humidity! We toured quite a few wineries and I never thought I would say this, but I’m a bit wined out. lol Dan and I missed our fur babies terribly and we’re happy to be back home!
Before our vacation, I did a quick try on from Express. There were so many great pieces! Here’s a highlight of my favorites.
Outfit Details: Notch Collar Boyfriend Blazer (wearing an XS) // Square Neck Tank (sized up, wearing a Small) // Mid Rise Barely Boot Jeans (wearing 2 Short) // Textured Slide Mules (TTS, but there was no 8.5 available so wearing size 9)
Everyone needs a comfortable blazer to layer over basic tops, so add this one to your wardrobe essentials. It has all the classic boyfriend blazer details, to include bracelet length sleeves to show off your favorite arm candy. Love that! Pair with dress pants and loafers for that borrowed-from-the-boys look.
These mules! Oh, these mules! They are everything. Love, love, love. I was so gutted when Express did not have my size. UGH. They are chic, they are comfortable, they are versatile and can go with casual or work wear attire. These come in the snake skin print (referred to as natural) and black. Such a great way to update your fall wardrobe. If they have your size, I highly recommend them. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
So, this top is meant to go off-the-shoulder, however as you can see – I didn’t wear it that way. I prefer it on my shoulders which gives a boat neck or bateau neckline. This was another great find. It’s very soft and comfy with a relaxed, but not sloppy, fit. All options have a marled color, for example the green one I’m wearing as striations of black throughout it. This is another piece that can take you from desk, to dinner to weekend easily!
I can honestly say, I’ve never met a stripe I didn’t like. So dang cute! Love the color combination of this sweater, which has stripes of charcoal, mauve, tan and grey. It also comes in a yellow and grey stripe. I would say it’s a medium weight. Looks great casually with jeans or dial up the style by tucking it into a pencil skirt. Love it.
What I love about these Barely Boot jeans is just as the name implies, it’s barely a boot cut jean. It has just a slight widening from the knee to the hem. They’re not as wide as a regular boot cut jean. They have a great fit and come in four different lengths – short, regular, long and petite. With this style of jean, I typically like to get two pair – one in a short length, to go with my flats and one in regular, to go with my heels and ankle boots. Really cute jeans!
If you’ve never tried any of Express’ blouses, I recommend you give them a go. That would include this lovely number. First of all, it comes in a gajillion colors! I know that’s not really a word, but seriously – I think they have ten color options. Love this vibrant celestial blue! It’s floaty and feminine and can be paired with your favorite work or weekend bottoms. Love the button-down detailing, V-neckline and blouson sleeves.
These wide leg culottes are equally as fabulous! They’re lightweight, with a tie waist. The wide-leg creates a flattering shape, yet looks smart and structured. Your perfect office wardrobe partner. But would also look adorable with a tee and slip on sneakers or mules.
So many good things going on at Express! That was a fun try on. As always, I love your company and appreciate you hanging out with me. I’ll see you next time! XO ~ Michelle
