What I wore – San Francisco/Napa Trip

Hi friends! Hope your day is off to a good start. We’ve finally settled back into a routine since our trip to San Francisco and Napa Valley. We had such a great time and I am excited to share a recap of my outfits from our vacay. Starting off with my travel outfit. I wanted to be comfortable, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be stylish. A comfortable pair of cropped jeans and a cute pair of ballet flats equal a never fail travel ensemble.

Our first day in San Francisco involved a visit to beautiful Muir Woods National Park, where we walked the trails and admired the redwoods. Such a beautiful, peaceful place! This was followed by lunch in a lovely sea-side town called Sausalito. Since we would be out in nature, walking the trails, proper shoes was a must! My Sketchers worked out perfectly.

The next day we took the ferry to Alcatraz! What a neat experience. So much history. It was a self-guided tour through the former Federal prison. To reach the cell house, you have to walk up a pretty steep hill, so again – comfortable walking shoes was a must. I opted to wear my Clark’s. They are so comfy – like walking on pillows!

I absolutely LOVE this double-strand necklace from H&M. It went with so many of my outfits and never got tangled or twisted.

It was pretty darn cold in San Francisco, so I was never without my Loft Drawstring Utility Jacket. It came in handy when riding the cable cars, taking the ferry to Alcatraz and hanging out by Fisherman’s Wharf, which can get a bit breezy down by the bay.

I swear we were all over San Francisco, taking in all the sights and surroundings. We visited the Japanese Tea Garden, Alamo Square Park to see the “Painted Ladies”, Ghirardelli Square and of course, a visit to San Francisco is not complete without a stroll over to Lombard Street, known for being the most crooked street in the world.

On our last evening in San Francisco, we had arranged plans for dinner / drinks with friends. It was the perfect way to end our stay!

We may have left our hearts in San Francisco, but we were ready for some wine tasting and tours in Napa Valley! First stop was Domaine Carneros. It was such a beautiful setting for sampling a variety of bruts and sparkling wines.

With so many wineries in and around the Napa area, it was hard to pick a favorite. But, Stags’ Leap was definitely at the top of our list. The wines were equally as enjoyable as the views.

Probably one of my favorite winery tours was of Castello di Amorosa. This place was AMAZING! It is such a unique winery and overall experience, because you get to walk through a medieval inspired Tuscan castle. So cool! PS: I never paid attention until after the fact that Dan and I wore very similar outfits on this day. That was unintentional, but funny nonetheless. 😀

It was an early morning flight back home filled with all the not-so-fun air travel drama- from Tram delays to the air side terminal to airline kiosk malfunctions. Ugh. Can’t control these airline related irritations we encountered, but I made sure I had the most comfy possible outfit to tackle the journey.
