Happy Friday!! Hope you all had a good week. Are you ready for the weekend? Any fun plans? I’ve got a Pilates intro class early Saturday morning (I always wanted to take a Pilates class, so I’m kinda excited about it) and then a friend and I are taking a Chunky Knit Blanket Class. I’m not exactly sure how this class will go, but I’m hoping my blanket doesn’t end up being a big ball of yarn. lol
Starting off the favorites of the week is this lovely high waist plaid skirt from Express. It is such a sophisticated skirt. It’s comfortable to wear, thanks in part to the touch of spandex. It has a back vent and overall, just a flattering fit. Pair with a turtleneck for office ready chic. You could also keep it more casual, by adding a denim jacket, scarf and boots. Additionally – if you are thinking holidays, how gorgeous would this skirt look with a red silk blouse.
Anyone else a member of the cardigan fan club? lol I cannot get enough of them. One of my favorites has been this one from Express. It is so cozy-soft you just want to wear it all day long. Whether you wear it more casually or dressed up, I think you’ll live in this versatile cardi all Fall and Winter.
The other day I was at my local Ulta store and stumbled across these gel strips from Dashing Diva. A little back story. For many, many years I used to wear acrylic nails, but when gels came out I decided to go that route. The problem I have with gels is that they are so damaging to my nail beds. I can only wear them for a short period of time – such as a vacation or holiday. Otherwise, if I continue to get gels consistently, I have to take a good three-to-six month break from them to allow my nails to heal (never had that issue with acrylics). So, when I saw these gel strips I thought – what the heck. I’ll give them a try.

I have been wearing them for a week now and so far so good. Application is super easy. Start with clean, dry hands. Push back your cuticles. Select a gel strip that best fits the nail and place the strip on the nail (starting from the bed and working your way towards the tip, removing any wrinkles or bubbles). Trim any access (I find nail clippers works best as opposed to scissors). File the nail (with an included nail file). Repeat with each nail until complete. Add a clear coat of nail polish to seal the look. I have been adding clear nail polish about every 3rd day. They last so much longer than regular nail polish, come in a wide variety of colors/patterns and are only $8.00. I know there are other similar brands out there. If you’ve tried the Dashing Diva (or another brand), let me know how your experience was! I’m pretty pleased.
That’s it for now! Hope you guys have a wonderful weekend and I’ll see you next time! XO ~ Michelle
